Momstown in the News
When asked to provide Momstown's view for a news story about a controversial parenting topic, Ann-Marie Burton, one of the group's founders, was understandably nervous.
With the media looking to the group for answers, Burton was determined to get it right. "I wanted to make sure that I really represented the thoughts of the entire group," she explains. And so she did what most of the group's members do when looking for advice - she posted on the on-line message board and immediately received a wide range of responses on the topic.
Momstown boasts a diverse group of mothers - new, veteran, working, stay-at-home and single moms - that provides its members with an invaluable source of information.
Charlotte Carstensen is the first one in her group of friends to have a child and depends on the group for support and advice when it comes to parenting her two-year-old son, Tyler.
"I check the Momstown website everyday for my daily dose of advice," says Carstensen. "I find it very comforting to know that there are other mothers out there with similar fears, anxieties, joys and excitement."
And the advice a group like this can give is now reaching beyond its members. The group's opinions are becoming a growing interest within the community, says Burton.
"It makes sense that a news provider wanting to hear the opinions of local mothers would contact Momstown. We are a large group that represents a good cross-section of the community." |

Did You Ever See A Bunny?
Make little bunny movements while singing to the tune of "did you ever see a lassie?". Being in tune doesn't count :)
Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny? Did you ever see a bunny, wiggle his nose? He wiggles and giggles, and wiggles and giggles Did you ever see a bunny, wiggle his nose?
Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny? Did you ever see a bunny, flap his big ears? He flips them and flaps them, and flips them and flaps them, Did you ever see a bunny, Flap his big ears?
Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny? Did you ever see a bunny, munch on his lunch? He munches and crunches, and munches and crunches, Did you ever see a bunny, munch on his lunch?
Did you ever see a bunny, a bunny, a bunny? Did you ever see a bunny, fluff his white tail? He fluffs and flaps and fluffs and flaps Did you ever see a bunny, fluff his white tail?
