Greetings,

It's Back To School Time!

Beginning in September, we're offering two new WinCable classes.

WinCable 101 - Overview and Certification Training
This class is designed for the new WinCable user who wants to understand how to use WinCable to manage day-to-day operations for a broadband services organization.  You'll learn everything needed to hit the ground running.  Best of all, attendees who complete this training are "GLDS Certified" and eligible to receive support assistance under monthly technical support plans.Laptops

WinCable 401 - Administrator Training

Consider yourself a power user?  Ready to use every bell and whistle WinCable has to offer?  If so, then this is your class.  Learn how to take advantage of WinCable's more advanced features to better manage promotions, discounts, and inactive subscribers.  Need to dig deeper into reports or better understand how to protect your data from loss?

Plan to attend WinCable 401 and become your company's WinCable guru.

What Is DEP and Why Should You Care?

With system vulnerabilities on the rise, Microsoft has added Data Execution Prevention (DEP) to its bag of tricks i9n an effort to help minimize security risks.  DEP is a set of hardware and software technologies that perform additional checks on memory to help prevent malicious code from taking advantage of exception-handling mechanisms in Windows.

What does this mean for GLDS software?  It means that the DEP settings will need to be configured to allow WinCable and SuperController to run properly.  An important reminder not only at installation but whenever WinCable (client or server) is updated.  Make sure your data prevention isn't blocking the data you need!  How do you do that?  That depends on which version of Windows you're running.  Bottom line, consult Microsoft if you have questions but you might find help following these links.
