GLDS is pleased to welcome Wananchi Group of
Nairobi Kenya. They joined us earlier this year have selected GLDS as their exclusive provider of billing,
subscriber management and provisioning solutions. Wananchi Group is a leading East African media and
telecommunications company specializing in pay  television and high speed
internet services for Kenya and Tanzania. Wananchi is working to become Kenya's
first triple play service provider ande is well on their way to achieving that goal. Mr.
Euan Fannell, CEO of Wananchi Group, commented: "Wananchi is delivering a new

CableAnytime Offers Improved Spam Support
|
In an effort to better protect our customers from automated spam attacks, GLDS has added CAPTCHA support within CableAnytime. Since you're likely asking "What's CAPTCHA?", it is a type of challenge-response test used in web-based email forms to ensure that the response is not generated by a computer. When contacting operators from CableAnytime, the system asks a user to complete a simple test which CableAnytime is now able to
generate and grade. Because other computers are unable to solve the
CAPTCHA, any user entering a correct solution is presumed to be human. Sounds tricky but it's not. The user is asked to type in what they see on the screen. If they fail, they are given another chance to get it right. Until they do, you don't get the email.
This feature's been automatically added to all CableAnytime sites worldwide.

Tax Exemptions

Adding a new tax?
Changing a tax? Don't forget to
change your tax exemptions. Tax
exemptions are created in Configuration, Franchise, Tax-Exempt Codes. Select the group that needs the change, click edit, and
add/remove taxes. This will update all subscribers
that are assigned the Tax-Group Code. For our friends in Canada that are adding HST, select
your existing tax-exempt code, and edit. Click add, and select HST (HST will need to first be defined
in System Taxes.) Now
any sub that was exempt will also be exempt from HST. There's no need to touch each account. The next time a transaction is added to an
account, the new exemptions will apply. |
