Get Ready for the 2010 GLDS Users' Group

Preparations are underway for the 14th annual GLDS Users' Group. The 2010 event will be held April 20th through 22nd where we'll host WinCable
users from around the world at our headquarters in beautiful Carlsbad, California.  Attendees will hear about industry trends, gain
insight from operator case studies/panels, learn about new features
added in the last year and provide input on how to improve WinCable as
we look at the next year. Those who have attended in the past
know they are in for three days of well-balanced sessions, sun and fun.
Look for registration forms early in 2010 and take advantage of early
bird registration incentives. Plan on attending and have an idea for a session? Have you seen success in 2009 that other WinCable users need to hear about? If so, let us know and we just might incorporate it into the event. |
Got a Project Coming Up?

If so, GLDS needs to know about it as soon as possible. While we pride ourselves in our flexibility and in our ability to respond quickly to customer requests, that's difficult to do when a request for a big project comes at the last minute.  Given that WinCable and SuperController drive most billing and provisioning processes, working closely with GLDS early on will lead to a more timely, and ultimately more successful, project. Just this month we've received requests like "we need someone on-site to train next week" or "can you help us launch a new head-end tomorrow" or even "we're launching VOD in three weeks and we need to know what to do." Please call GLDS as soon as you decide to move forward with a project that you'll need our help with. Doing so will ensure we have resources available to meet your needs and that we can adequately prepare for a smooth project. |
Tip: Managing Autopayments
|
When running Credit Card, ACH, EFT or Draft processing, the default amount
processed is the balance on the account at the time of the last cycle close for
a given customer.
If that customer makes a payment between the time of cycle close, and
the time you process autopayments, the payment will NOT be reflected in the
amount processed, as current transactions are not included.
It's best to run your autopayments as close to cycle close as you can
to avoid any customer misunderstandings, and it's very important that your CSRs
know how this works, so they can pass along the information to the
subscribers.
Users can set FINANCIAL RULES in System Configuration so that customers
who have pending disconnect work orders are only autobilled through the date of
the pending inactivate. Use this setting and you won't end up autobilling, then
charging the subscriber bank account for a full month and then having to refund
the difference.
