| Ready for the Digital Transition?
|
Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that on February 17, 2009, TV stations will stop transmitting their programs in today's analog technology, and will start transmitting them only in digital. This change, known as the digital transition, will move cable operators into a forever digital world.
As operators prepare for the change, GLDS is working to minimize the overall impact. Whether it's ensuring we have enough resources to help you transition, or forming new partnerships with lower cost digital headend vendors, GLDS is finding ways to make the change easier.
GLDS has formed a new relationship that can help operators make the change more cost-effectively. With over 10,000 headend systems installed worldwide, BLANKOM is a leading supplier of professional cable TV headends for digital and analog video distribution. The company is based in Germany and has produced high quality products for the cable and broadcast markets since 1919. Today, operators worldwide rely on Blankom's affordable, standards based products for the delivery of video to their customers. The company provides not only the most cost and space efficient headend systems but also offers system integration support and complete service to all its customers.
Blankom's product portfolio includes the full range of standard and high-definition TV signal processing modules from QAM-modulators, MPEG encoders and multiplexers to DVB-S2 satellite receivers for all broadband applications. User friendly, remote-controllable management interfaces are standard features resulting in low cost of operation. Blankom's products are compatible with Conax which has already integrated with WinCable. The company has a worldwide network of partners to better serve its customers. This includes the North American market where New Jersey based Blankom USA supports several channel partners to meet the needs of MSOs, smaller, independent cable systems and private network operators.
GLDS is pleased to welcome Blankom USA to its list of certified interface partners.
