GLDS Welcomes TVMAX
|
GLDS is pleased to
welcome one of our newest family members, TVMAX, a MSO serving approximately
350 apartment complexes with over 100,000 passings in Houston, Texas.
GLDS converted TVMAX from Convergys' ICOMS to its WinCable billing and
subscriber management solution earlier this year.
Based in Houston, TVMAX offers cable television
and Internet services to numerous Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs); including,
apartments, condominiums and gated communities. The new WinCable system will
provide TVMAX with robust, cost-effective solutions to manage voice, video and
data services.
"TVMAX is pleased with its selection of
WinCable. It provides us with the core tools for our billing, call center
and operations departments, as well as the opportunity to expand our services
and drive additional revenues," said David Curtin, COO at TVMAX.
"Lower costs aren't the only criteria in such a massive system conversion,
but they are a critical component and the savings we will enjoy will flow
straight to our bottom-line. Successfully managing through the transition of a
company's core system's is crucial, and we've been very impressed with the
professionalism and the results we've seen from GLDS."
"TVMAX has some ambitious plans, and we're
confident in our ability to help them meet both short and long term
objectives," said Laura Rosado, Executive Vice President at GLDS.
"We've been managing triple play for technology-savvy operators since
2004, and are pleased to welcome TVMAX as a new customer."
For those attending Users' Group, be sure to
introduce yourself and make them feel welcome!

Users' Group Hotel Rates Extended!
|
We're seeing record attendance this year so The Grand Pacific Palisades has extended the deadline for discounted hotel rates to THIS WEDNESDAY, March 19th.
For those that don't yet have hotel reservations, now's the time to make those arrangements.
This year's Users' Group event will be held April 21st through 24th at our headquarters in beautiful Carlsbad, California.
Attendees will hear about industry trends, gain insight from operator case studies/panels, learn about new features added in the last year and provide input on how to improve WinCable as we look ahead at the next year.
Several sessions are new for 2008:
-
Real-time subscriber credit checks.
-
Automated Outage Detection and Reporting.
-
Transaction Archiving.
-
Wish List Roundtable: Didn't get enough in general Wish List session? We'll keep discussing those great ideas in this special breakout.
-
And so much more!
Those that have attended in the past know they are in for three days of well-balanced sessions, sun and fun.

Handling Inactive Subscribers
|
Understanding the difference between collections and write-offs is critical and the processes of managing each can be tricky in some situations. If the "Handle Inactive Subscribers" processes aren't completed correctly, incorrect amounts might be posted to subscriber accounts and it's likely you'll send bad data to your collections agency.
While these processes are documented in User manuals, GLDS wants to be sure our users thoroughly understand this process to ensure smooth collections processes. For this reason, we offer a 2-hour, on-line training class that takes users through the process using real customer data. The class is limited in size, and interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and talk through issues with the trainer. If you feel like you'd benefit from this type of class, please click here to register.

Limitless Improvements
|
Every year at our annual Users' Group, GLDS solicits ideas for new product features - see the first story in this newsletter. After each event GLDS' development team evaluates the requests, gathers requirements, scopes the work and prioritizes the work. Ideas with broad appeal are incorporated into WinCable and many customers benefit.
GLDS is pleased to announce the addition of another such enhancement - unlimited notes length. While notes used to be limited to 255 characters each, WinCable now allows users to create notes of an unlimited length. These changes affect all notes fields - Subscriber, House, Equipment and Work Order.
While this might seem like a simple change, we've heard from our customers that the impact is significant. Further, it's another example of the commitment we've made to responding to our customers' needs.
