The Beautification Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2009 Beautification Awards. Nominations will be accepted now through June 19, and can be submitted by phone, email or website.

Food for Thought: Homegrown Poetry by McLean County Poets, in celebration of the Museum's new exhibit "Come and Get it! The Way We Ate 1830-2008."
 
Produce: Kale, collard greens, arugula, parsley and ruby steaks mustard greens, as well as strawberries, rhubarb, romaine and buttercrunch lettuce, mesclun salad mix, carrots, celery root, bok choi, red and white radishes, green garlic, chives, assorted herbs, honey, maple syrup, popcorn, freshly ground whole wheat flour, local cheeses, baked gooods and farm-raised tilapia and much more.

The Friends of the Bloomington Public Library Book sale will be held at the Crossroads Center, 438 Wylie Dr. in Bloomington, June 5, 10 -8; June 6, 10 - 5 and June 7, noon - 4.

Bloomington Parks and Recreation continues it's lunchtime music series at the McLean County Museum of History on June 10 with David Berchtold. Bring your lunch, and enjoy the middle of the middle of your work week!

Twin City Tours 
Twin City Tours is a guided bus tour of over 40 Bloomington-Normal attractions including the Beer Nuts plant, Mitsubishi Motors North America, ISU, IWU, Uptown Normal and Downtown Bloomington. The two hour tour begins and ends in front of the McLean County Museum of History and the cost of the tour is $1 per person. Advanced reservations are required and can be made by contacting the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau at 309.665.0033. The tours are conducted every Saturday from May 30th - August 29th (excluding holidays).
Parking is available in the parking deck on the corner of East and Front Street.
