This "Thought for the Day" is an experiment in daily living and what we call in our meditation practice, "correcting the intellect." This is expressive of the idea that, after a lifetime of seeing the world and our place in it from a certain point of view, as our experience of consciousness widens and deepens via our practice of Vedic meditation, so our experience of life also can change. This change occurs gradually as we correct our thinking, the more accurately it may reflect our new understanding of things.
This daily email is a reminder that there is more than one way to look at things. Most of what gets written here is a direct result of asking a question, then seeking the answer by way of the Vedic world view. The Vedic world view is simplicity itself; and yet the extrapolations that come from this simplicity at times indeed boggle the mind. Yet when looked at, the ideas expressed generally take the form of, or at least have the feel of, knowledge that once was known but had been forgotten. The wisdom of the Veda carries this quality with it because it comes from Consciousness itself, that thing that is shared by each of us, that is the Source of each of us, that is, according to the Veda, the stuff of life itself.
The universe is one thing. All that is, is an expression of this one thing. This one thing is Consciousness itself. Capture consciousness and you've captured life.
Today I will spend my twenty minutes morning and evening, grateful that I have such a simple way to dive into the very heart of the universe.
