We are meant to give ourselves to the world. Each of us has a gift that is ours and ours alone to give. We each are unique, absolutely special. And we each know this on some level. It can be confusing for us and get us into all sorts of trouble if we are constrained to knowing ourselves only as the ego-mind. When this is how we are seeing ourselves, and from that seeing we insist on our specialness, then we simply find ourselves arrogant at best, or dangerous at worst. Yet this idea of our individual uniqueness is inborn, for in fact it is the truth of our being, here in the relative world. I am Totality, nature, expressed through a very particular personality. When I repeat something I've heard or something I've learned, it comes out of me with the coloration born of the life experiences I've had. Someone who has had similar life experiences, or has found a similar way of understanding the world, may in fact be able to hear from me what they never would have been able to hear from someone else. Others may be put off by my roughness, or by my reverence or my irreverence. None of this matters, though. Because nature will use all of me. It will use me to speak to those who can hear it from me. It will use me to send elsewhere those who cannot hear it from me. It will use me to piss off those who need to be pissed off. My task at hand is to spend time each day letting go of stresses, getting in touch with nature and aligning myself with the movement of nature, and from that place, speaking the truth and doing what feels right and correct for me to do.
This is the task at hand for each of us.
Today I will ask nature what it would have me do. I will make myself available to be of service. And then I will show up where I am called upon to show up--awake, aware, loving and kind--knowing that I will be used somehow, in some way.
