It's been brought to my attention that the title of this daily writing is Vedic Meditation Thought of the Day; and yet I seem lately to have been writing something closer to an essay. Evidently, brevity is one of my less-developed qualities.
So, the thought for today is, simply, "meditate."
Nothing, ever, in my experience or in my observation, has the transformative power of our simple, twice daily practice. It is the basis for all change. It is the process of transformation itself.
And all that is required of us is that we find a way to give ourselves a pleasurable 20 minutes, seated comfortably in a chair, twice each day.
If you have fallen off your practice, or simply want to be reinvigorated, sit in on the course again with me or with any of my colleagues. You are pre-paid for life to take the course or any part of the course whenever you would like, as often as you would like. Take advantage of this.
If you are not yet a meditator in the Vedic tradition, come to an intro talk--again, with me or with any of my colleagues. The talks are relatively painless, sometimes entertaining and always free.
This morning, before checking any more email, push away from the computer and have a meditation. Then this afternoon/evening, before dinner, have another. Just for today. See if it doesn't make things run a bit more smoothly.
