BAC FIT TIP |
Six Tips on How to Stick with your New Year's Resolutions
1. Focus on positive self-talk. Congratulate yourself every time you take a step towards your resolution goal. Be your own best cheerleader. 2. Avoid berating yourself if you should fall back or break a resolution. Just brush yourself off and start over again. 3. Stick to your resolution by considering it a promise to yourself, not a test of your willpower. 4. Avoid situations that put you in temptation's path, meaning if you're on a diet, don't go to the ice cream parlor. 5. Keep a sticky note in a prominent place so that you see it every day, reminding yourself of your resolutions. (i.e., on your bathroom mirror, next to your bed, on the visor of your car, on the refrigerator) 6. Be realistic. Make sure your plan is a realistic one that can fit into your lifestyle. Will you really have the energy to go out for that evening exercise class? Make changes as easy and convenient as possible.
7. Utilize a personal trainer. They know all the shortcuts and how to aid you in achieving your goals. Work with a trainer with a friend or get into group exercise. When you have others going through what you are, camaraderie sets in and success takes off.

BAC Fitness Trainer of the Month
John Acha |
John has been working for Brenda Athletic Clubs in Turlock since November. He has been a wonderful asset to our facility and we are very lucky to have him as part of our BAC Personal Training Team. His motivation and determination
shines through with all of his personal training clients.
More about John In college he played Division I baseball for Sacramento State then went on to play professional baseball for the San Francisco Giants organization. Before joining the BAC training team he was coaching professional baseball in Italy. He first fell in love with Olympic Weightlifting in college where he saw his greatest gains in strength which he truly believes helped him make it to the professional level. His passion is coaching and training young aspiring athletes who want to excel in their sport. Perfecting and teaching proper techniques for training with kettlebells is another one of his favorite tools for helping clients see great results in overall fitness and strength. Outside of sports performance training,he enjoys seeing his clients of all ages and abilities progress and accomplish their individual goals!
