| Greetings!
|
As you receive and read this edition of An Apostolic Approach I will have just returned from three weeks overseas in Ukraine ministering in three different cities-Boyorka, Krasnoarmeysk, and Dnipropetrovsk. It has been a busy three weeks but many lives have been seriously impacted for all of eternity. It has been an amazing time of seeing God work powerfully every day as we taught His Word and He confirmed it each and every time by moving powerfully by His Spirit. I am reminded of Luke's comment in the book of Acts (Acts 19:11) where it states: "God did extraordinary miracles through Paul" as he preached the uncompromised message of the Gospel. Feedback from this ministry trip to Ukraine has already begun to come in to us here at Ralph Howe Ministries and, as time allows, we will post these emails on my daily blog found on the front page of the web site at www.ralphhoweministries.com.
I am, of course, spending a few days relaxing after ministering in three services a day for 18 days straight and then spending 21 hours in airports and airplanes coming home. Time to unwind, relax, see my family and catch up on the news and some of the reading I want to do.
Our next trip back to Ukraine will be from (approximately) the 4th to the 19th
of June. I will be there for a special conference (as an attendee) in Kiev and
then some work in two local churches in two separate cities (plans still
tentative). I will return to Ukraine to minister at a Ukraine-wide Youth Camp
sponsored by a number of local churches in mid-August for two weeks. The plans
for this camp and outreach to young people began during our November, 2008 trip,
gained more depth and detail during discussions held with various youth leaders
during the trip that has just ended, and is coming together very nicely. We are
excited about the potential this camp has for impacting a young generation and,
through them, the country of Ukraine and beyond.
Further trips to two locations in Russia (one to a local church conference
- the other to a Orthodox youth conference) and to two locations in the country
of Kazakhstan are in the planning stages for later in the fall of this year. As
well, a separate trip to Stavropol area in Russian (the city of Mineralny Vody)
is also in the initial planning stages with no date set yet.
I am also excited to announce that The Point - our weekly radio show - is expanding from once a week to twice a week. We will be airing two programs weekly - Fridays and Sundays at 6:30. These can be heard via the internet at www.therock1005fm.com or from the archives at my web site. This will be a real stretch for us as we write and produce two new shows a week. We have plans to change the format of the show, introduce some new features, and generally upgrade the show as we are now 8 months old and can see where some changes need to be made. We also welcome Darryl Snyder to our staff as our announcer as he works with me to implement the changes. Darryl comes to us with experience in community radio here in the city of Regina.
As usual, this edition of Apostolic Approach contains some great articles to help you to grow spiritually and in your knowledge of the Bible and the current move to re-establish apostles to the Church so that the Church can become truly apostolic in nature. Our bookstore has some new products for your library - books, CDs, MP3s and DVDs. A prophetic word to the Church and to believers can be found under "Prophetic Insights" and we, of course, invite you to join us on our web blog to express your thoughts and opinions on the topic of the day.

This 4-cd set is a "MUST-HAVE" for the serious student of scripture. In this four part teaching Ralph brings a fresh revelation of what the
Lord is currently doing in and through His Church as apostles and
prophets minister to God's people and as God's people begin to walk in
their prophetic destiny. As well, he describes in detail the form of
attacks each of these spirits will launch against believers and
churches and how to defeat this onslaught of the Devil

CHARACTER - THE BASIS OF A PROPHETIC TEAM
|
When you read the New Testament it quickly becomes evident that most
apostolic men and women worked in teams. Paul and Barnabas (Acts
13:43-46), Paul and Silas (Acts 16:19), Paul, Barnabas Judas and Silas
(Acts 15:22), Paul and Timotheus (Philippians 1:1), Paul, Silvanus and
Timotheus (Acts 16:19) and Paul and company (Acts 13:13).

A NEW REALM OF THE PROPHETIC
When I minister prophetically in a local church - the pastor or a leader
of the church gives me a list of people they would like me to prophesy
over. I call them up one at a time (or as a couple if they are married)
and without any indication of what the Lord would have me say I step
out in faith and say "the Lord would say..." and hear the prophetic
word for them at exactly the same time they hear it.

Apostolic Annotations
|
"Why is it that the Church has been built upon the ministry of the pastor when the word "pastor" only appears once in the New Testament? How is it we often do not embrace the prophetic as a part of the daily life of the Church and individual believers - yet in the book of Acts the Church was extremely prophetic? When are we going to take seriously the need to hear God regarding every detail of life - personal and corporate - so that we can, once again, be supernatural to the very core of our being?"

Great Reading:

Apostles, Prophets and Administrators
By Gordon Lindsay

This simple little book brings introductory material on apostles,
prophets, and governments as a concept in the church. It is not in
depth, being only 52 pages, but it is thoroughly scriptural and does a
great job of introducing these vital church roles.

The God Of Results And Success
We worship the god of results and success. If your church or ministry is growing then it must be God and you must be godly and one that He is using mightily.
Really now! It is interesting that the Lord sent His disciples out two-by-two
and told them that if the town they entered did not accept them and the
message of the Gospel that they were to leave that town and shake the
dust off of their feet. (Matthew 10:14 ... "Whoever does not receive you,
nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake
the dust off your feet.")
In other words, He was sending them to places that
He knew or, at least, suspected they would not be received favourably
and where their visit would not bring about the establishing of a group
of believers Rather, He was sending them where they would likely be
persecuted and tossed out if they did not leave voluntarily. And, if
Jesus did only what He saw the Father do and what He heard the Father
say - then obviously God was sending some of them into areas that
would, to the human point of view, be non-productive and so a serious
failure.
I find it interesting that Jesus did not seem as
interested in "success" and "numbers" as we are. It seems that He was
much more interested in letting every person hear the Gospel so that
they would have opportunity to respond.
