| Greetings!
|
I'm writing this in Bogaslav, Ukraine where I have been ministering now for a week. Wonderful, powerful services - anointed and seriously prophetic. I have spoken numerous times and prophesied over many, many people. I have been in services from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day with just a quick break for supper.
This is a great country with tremendous churches. They have grown spiritually and numerically over the past decade and are coming into world-wide leadership in the current move of the Holy Spirit. However, it is very evident that they have gained a great deal of information and experience but, in many cases, don't have the foundation upon which to build - the foundation of the apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:20); the apostles doctrine (Acts 2:42); as well as the full five-fold ministry of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher. But they sense that there is more that they need to know and do (at least the churches and leaders that I have been ministering to during my last two visits) and know that they need apostolic and prophetic direction and teaching.
God wants seasoned apostles and prophets to travel to Ukraine to lay these new foundations. There is so much to do and to teach. Many believers need discipling; many young men with the calling of an apostle need to be mentored, trained, equipped and released to minister to their own churches in this nation. And there are a few here currently doing just this - much that is good is going on - but the Church is, in many places, being built without a proper foundation.
I believe this ministry is called to answer this need. So, I have agreed to return four times this year to work with the leaders and the people to help build these foundational truths into local churches. As well, I will use these visits to begin to mentor those who have been called into apostolic ministry as they have asked me to help them begin to walk in their calling and anointing.
So, much was accomplished in our November, 2008 visit here and much more is being accomplished during this visit - spiritual foundations are once again being laid as we teach on "The Prophetic Wars" and train leaders in the prophetic. As well, we are ministering to many through the gifts of healings, word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits and prophecy. But much remains to be done. And, I have assured them that Ralph Howe Ministries' resources will be there for them as will I. I could do no less!

Apostolic anointings are pioneering anointings. Those with this
anointing are the vanguard leaders in moving outward from the local
church into the world to plant local churches and thus expand the
Kingdom's influence. When one is sent out from a local church
(apo-stello) then that person enters the apostolic anointing and begins
apostolic ministry.

The Coming Opposition and Then Persecution
I believe it was Dietrich Bonheoffer - a German pastor, seminary
professor, and theologian who spoke often about "cheap grace" and "easy
believeism". His concern was that the Christian message was simply not
being embraced because we lived with and accepted sin in our life -
using the idea of grace to receive forgiveness as the reason why sin in
its various forms did not concern us (cheap grace).

Apostolic Annotations
|
"Churches today need to look at the foundations (spiritual, doctrinal,
organizational) upon which they have been built in the past and see the need to
repair and rebuild upon biblical foundations even if that means drastic and
abrupt change and some risk."

The Forgotten Ways
By Alan Hirsch

Alan Hirsch is convinced that the
inherited formulas for growing the Body of Christ do not work anymore.
And rather than relying on slightly revised solutions from the past, he
sees a vision of the future growth of the church coming about by
harnessing the power of the early church, which grew from as few as
25,000 adherents in AD 100 to up to 20 million in AD 310. Such
incredible growth is also being experienced today in the church in
China and other parts of the world. How do they do it? The Forgotten
Ways explores the concept of Apostolic Genius as a way to understand
what caused the church to expand at various times in history,
interpreting it for use in our own time and place.

A Pleasant Afternoon Concert
I was on my way to our Sunday morning worship service.
On my way (a five minute drive from where I live) I pass two church
buildings. Both have signs on their property. On one was the typical
bits of information - times of services, name of pastor, and church
phone number. On the other there was an announcement that read: "Join us today for a pleasant afternoon concert" - this afternoon at 2:30 p.m.).
My reaction surprised me. I immediately thought -
why are we holding "pleasant afternoon concerts" when people are not
hearing the Gospel and don't know what it is that Jesus did for them
and what it is that He now offers them as a result of His death on the
Cross of Calvary. I mean I didn't know the Church was in the business
of offering "pleasant afternoon concerts" for the community.
I then reconsidered and thought that I should repent. My thoughts went like this: Well maybe, just maybe, they are offering "a pleasant afternoon concert"
to attract people to the building who would not normally come to a
Sunday morning worship service. Then they can share the Gospel of Jesus
Christ with them. But would that not be a little deceptive? Bring them
in for one thing and then spring another agenda on them?
