An Apostolic Approach

|
| Greetings!
|
As you read this edition of our e-newsletter "An Apostolic Approach" I will have been in Ukraine ministering for a number of days. It has been almost three years since I last visited and ministered in this great nation and excitement is mounting in my heart as I write this in the midst of preparing for the trip.
This trip is from November 6 to November 21st. There are two others joining me (we meet up in Minneapolis, MN) and fly to Amsterdam, Holland and then to Kiev, Ukraine. We will be in airports and on planes for a day and a half. Immediately upon arrival we will be ministering at a local church in Boyorka. This is a city that is located not far from Kiev, the capital. Then on the 13th, after teaching several sessions, we will board an 'electrisca' to travel 11 hours to another city where we will also be teaching young believers biblical truths. Then, at the end of that conference we travel back to Kiev by train, board a flight and do the trip in reverse.
Our topic is prophecy (and the other related gifts of the Spirit) and we have both beginners and some who are fairly mature in the gift. We will be teaching and then having hands-on, practical application sessions where those in attendance will have a supervised opportunity to apply, in a safe environment, what they are learning. A hands-on approach to learning and ministry.
So, please remember myself and my team (Bob and Irene MacDonald from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) in your prayers. We are believing for great things. As well, pray for the teams being formed for what we hope will be three visits to this great nation in 2009.

Apostolic Paradigm Changes
|
As 21st Century apostolic churches emerge (and they will do so
quickly), there will be at least four specific paradigm changes taking
place within the local church. A paradigm is a model or pattern in
which we function and through which we view the Church. The first apostolic paradigm shift is perhaps the most profound and
powerful. It will be a breaking free from the one-man-only paradigm.
This paradigm requires all of the church's marketing efforts and
resources to be used in drawing people to a building to be taught by
one ascension (doma) gift. In this paradigm there is no sending
(apostolic) dimension.
The second apostolic paradigm shift will powerfully affect the goal of
evangelism and take it from just getting a decision for Christ into
raising a disciple of Christ.

The Means Has Become the End - Repent!
T he Lord is speaking to His Church today - apostles are prophetically
crying out and declaring the Word of the Lord. Few, as of yet, are
heeding the Word but it has been and is being released and will
accomplish all that the Lord sends it forth to do - not returning to
Him void of results (Isaiah 55:11). The Church (believers) pray for the
glory of God to fall upon our assemblies and our worship. Good! But
that is simply a means to an end - the end being that as darkness
becomes gross darkness (Isaiah 60:1-3) the nations will see the "light"
upon the Church and come to know and to worship our God. Too often
today believers want the "glory" but simply for themselves so that they
can feel that God approves of them and sense the approval of God on
their assembly. We have turned the "glory" into an idol as we have also
done with revival and the anointing.

Apostolic Annotations
|
"Today's believers have been so influenced and impacted by the culture in which they live that, in the majority of cases, they no longer have a biblical worldview. As a result, although they believe in a spiritual side to life and the supernatural, they no longer see these through a biblical perspective and so are trying to carry "water" without a bucket. This means they are forming their values and ethics without the benefit of God's perspective and the foundational truths of God's Word. As a result, they are often following a god they created and one which confirms the sinful desires and selfish values of their heart."

Seated In Heavenly Places
By Ana Mendez Ferrell

This book of apostolic reformation, deals with internal aspects and
paradigms. It will challenge the deepest parts of your being, so that
God will take you to sit with Him on His throne. You will know the
difference between saying "I am sitting with Jesus on His throne" and
undoubtedly knowing that He has taken you by the hand and has sat you
there. - Knowing you reign with Him. "He who overcomes, I will grant
him to sit down with Me on my throne, as also I overcame and sat down
with My Father on His throne." Rev. 3:21

Christian Superstars
Around the world believers flock to see "big names". They spend multiple hundreds of dollars that could have gone to support mission work on hotels and meals, airfare and car rentals to attend conferences where "big names" are speaking and ministering.
These "big names" are people who have written popular books, have television and radio ministries, whose church or ministry is growing (numbers and size = success) or are doing something somewhat out of the ordinary where they minister (novelty = God). Men and women often become big names because apparently God is moving mightily through their ministry and so people flock to 'receive a touch from God'.

Seated In Heavenly Places By: Ana Mendez Ferrell
Someone once said, "Show me your hunger with your boldness. Show me
your searching with your perseverance, and then I will believe that you
will find Him."
This book is about understanding apostolic reformation. It is written
to help you see this reformation from God's vantage point - from
heavenly places. It is only from this perspective that a person can see
the true dimensions necessary for this change and radical reformation.
