Is it my imagination or is there a fresh interest brewing about evangelism? There appears to be a renewed focus on winning the lost and seeing souls saved. The good, old-fashioned, biblical concept of sharing your testimony and telling others of the goodness of the Lord that you have experienced (and are experiencing) seems to be back in vogue. And I, for one, am excited - no ecstatic.
I remember when I was first saved and Baptized in the Holy Spirit. The focus for us as new believers was to share our faith and offer others the same hope we had received; the same assurance of eternal life. We took every opportunity to share the Gospel or Good News that Jesus was Saviour and Baptizer in the Holy Spirit. It is sad to say but over the years that zeal has cooled and many have become somewhat lukewarm about the fact that unless one has a personal relationship with Jesus they will be going to Hell.
But, that is changing. Today I sense a return of spiritual excitement in the hearts and minds of those who are true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe the Lord is adding back the role and ministry of apostles to His Church as this ministry is foundational to a healthy, evangelizing Church. I believe His people are becoming healthier and stronger in their walk with the Lord and, as a result, we will see many come into the Kingdom. Afteralll, healthy sheep begat more sheep. There are exciting times ahead because new believers always bring new life, a fresh perspective, and that age-old question, "Why!" which then causes us to grow along with them.
So, we need to be prepared to lead the lost to the Saviour as God begins to draw them to Himself in ever increasing numbers. We should invest our money wisely in books, seminars, and conferences that will help us to win the lost. In fact, I believe that should be one of the major criterion for selecting a conference or seminar - will it help you to be more effective and biblical in your work of influencing and winning the lost?
In this issue of our e-newsletter you will find a number of apostolic and prophetic insights that the Lord has given us to help you to recognize His hand in what is taking place today in His Kingdom and the Church. As well, we have a number of resources - both books and CDs - that would be a welcome addition to your home library.
Thanks for taking a few minutes to read through this issue and, as always, we welcome feedback from those who receive this twice monthly communication.

Prophetic Insights ... By Ralph Howe

Powerful 'Prophetic' Prayer
Many years ago I spent a whole day drinking coffee
at a Sambo's restaurant and reading the Gospel according to John in one
sitting. It was then, for the first time, that I noticed Jesus' words -
repeated frequently throughout the Gospel - when He states that He only
does what He sees His Heavenly Father do and only speaks what He hears
His Father speak. This insight about His ministry radically altered my
ministry. And, it changed forever my concept of prayer.

Apostles and Prophets in Perspective
|

In earlier e-newsletters I mentioned that apostolic and prophetic
ministry are foundational ministries in the Church. Foundational does
not mean that these ministries are more important or valuable than
other ministries, however. One ministry or role is never more important
than another.
When we consider a building - the foundation of the building is not
seen. However, when storms and other influences come against the
building, the foundation's strength provides support for the building.

Apostolic Annotations
|
"Disciples today need to be focused on following the Lord of the Harvest
regardless of cost. This involves being intentional about listening for His
voice and obeying His Word and His commands instantly. This will bring about a
change in life-style that appears to many to be extreme; to God it is simply the
norm!" - Ralph Howe

The Restoration Of The Apostles And Prophets
By Hector Torres
God is raising up a new generation of believers with the ministerial
gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers as
found in Ephesians 4. These believers are taking authority in the world
today and giving their valuable support to the work of the Lord. With
this restoration, the body of Christ is beginning to reach its "measure
of the stature of the fullness of Christ."
