See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
- Isaiah 43:19

Do you remember the difference between milk and solid food in the context of the Scriptures? The difference is not so much in the content as it is in how we process the Word. Milk we gulp and we're done. Solid food we chew on over and over. The more we chew on it, the more we think about it, the more we, "Taste and see that the Lord is good!"
So let's chew on Isaiah 43:19 a little more, shall we...
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
In the second part of the verse God says, "See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?" Looking with the eyes of faith is so important. In the Book of Job, Elihu asked a really good question of Job and his friends, "For has anyone said to God... 'Teach me what I do not see?'" We tend to get tunnel vision during stressful seasons don't we? The anxieties scream out for attention. The difficulties cry out for... devotion?
Has this ever happened to you? My wife and I love to go for walks out by Saint John's University when it's nice outside. The trails out there are so beautiful. But, I can remember being out there a few times during difficult seasons where I would get so focused on the trial that I missed the trees. I missed the beauty. I missed the fellowship... Then, when I'd realize I was doing it again, I'd lift my head up, shake it off, apologize to Danielle and purposely take in the beauty and fellowship that was all around me the whole time.
God is about to do something new... He's already begun... Do you not see it? O precious saint of the Most High, lift up your eyes to the Lord. He is with you. He is working.
I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. - Psalm 121:1-2
"Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire..." - 2 Kings 6:16-17
Looking unto Him...
