A Word from Karyn
|
|
Hi Friend!
If you know me at all, you know I'm intensely interested in helping children (and adults) understand the Bible. After perusing stories and scriptures from many other religions, I can say without reservation that the Bible holds the most beautiful story that has ever been told. I've tried to retell some of those stories in an easy-to-read-and-understand format with full color pictures in the Day by Day Begin-to-Read Bible.
For the next level of readers, those who need a Bible that respects their desire for a grown-up looking text without sacrificing readability, there's the Day by Day Kid's Bible. Because it's abridged and chronological, it gives kids an overview that bridges the gap between the picture book Bible and the traditionally ordered, full text.
So where do kids go from there? Parents and teachers sometimes ask me what Bible I recommend when their kids have finished the Day by Day Bibles. It's time to move into a full, traditional text, but kids still need readability, which includes understanding what they read. Enter The NLT Kids Bible, newly developed by my friends at Tyndale House Publishers. The NLT Kids Bible is a well-thought-out translation, perfect for kids to use as a study Bible. Each book starts with a brief introduction about its themes and lessons. And this Bible is full of sidebars to explain key Christian beliefs, important verses, interesting facts, and even character profiles. It's rich. It's a treasure. And it's the perfect next step for your growing kids.
I hope you have a wonderful entrance into spring followed by a glorious Easter!
By God's grace, to His glory,
Karyn Henley |
