Dr. Cantu Discusses NFL's Effort to Battle Concussions,
Potential Conflict with "Dinosaur" Coaches

The conflict comes to life in (Coach Mike) Singletary's beloved and much-discussed "nutcracker" drill - where two players line up and try to ram into one another. Singletary says that drill will be an important part of training camp again this year.

"He probably doesn't understand the issues the way he hopefully would or should," said Dr. Robert Cantu, who was just named a senior adviser to the NFL's new committee on head, neck and spine trauma. "I think he probably has a mindset that goes back a few years. He needs to be enlightened.
