Garden of Innocence Banner
  October 2010
Greetings!

It is always a pleasure to communicate with our faithful family!

So far in 2010 we have welcomed Howard, Freddie, Andrew, Hope, Chad, Granville, Pearl, Colin, and Alexandra.  Please stop by Garden of Innocence when you can to rest and remember our babies.

We have had no burials since August and we are grateful for this good news.

Sincerely,
Georgene Kruzel
President, Garden of Innocence

P. S.
Look for a Garden of Innocence print newsletter in your mailbox in November.  And, as always, thank you for loving our babies as much as we do!

Preserving our Mission
Help Garden of Innocence San Diego Continue

We have only 34 burial plots left inside the "Circle of Love" concrete walkway.  These 34 casket plots have been paid for and most of the burial fees prepaid.  When our burials move outside the circle we will have increased burial costs because some of our pre-need discounts will have expired.  El Camino Cemetery has graciously offered to work with Garden of Innocence San Diego to again provide significant discounts under a pre-need agreement to help us preserve our ability to continue our mission for years to come!  After the first of the year we will have complete information about this great opportunity that we will share with you.

In the meantime we ask that you continue to support us by sharing our mission with your friends and family.  Forward this email using the "forward email" link or, when you talk with them, invite them to visit our facebook or web pages.  Also, please consider a year-end gift to Garden of Innocence San Diego to help us continue our mission to provide dignified burials for abandoned and unidentified children who die in San Diego County. We are a 501c(3) charity and your gift is tax deductible.

House finchesJoe Duran is one of our volunteer casket makers but in addition to woodwork he enjoys writing.  Please enjoy one of his lovely short stories called The New Family:

Arriving unexpectedly a few minutes early to church on June 29, 2008, Matilda and I had decided to wait in the car, even if it was a summer temperature extra warm for me. I could not take a chance in closing my eyes for fear of being seen taking a nap inside our car, as I had done and being caught on a previous occasion.

After a couple of minutes of waiting, a young Finch Couple arrived, landing on the roof of the computer room, she was bursting with energy and anxious to get started on their preparation for their special home nest.
