Dear ,
We have been blessed with no burials since February and one of our volunteer casket builders, Joe Duran, wrote this lovely thought: Silende Stillness Peaceful
We dare not speak of the stillness in the air. To God we pray that our world may be gradually changing its way of loving our innocent children. And while we do pray that his words are true, we are called now to bury Agnes... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our Lady of Grace Youth Group Visits
|
Aug 7, the youth group from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (OLG) visited Garden of Innocence as part of their week to explore the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy: To feed the hungry;to give drink to the thirsty; to clothe the naked; to shelter the homeless; to visit the sick; to visit the prisoner; and, to bury the dead.
After a short talk about our mission by Georgene Kruzel, GOI President, the students offered to clean the grave stones. Rebecca Melendez, co-founder and mortuary liaison explained the safe way to clean the stones and the students went to work, offering silent prayers while completing their task. Learn more

Position Filled! Lead Casket Builder |
We are pleased to announce that
Bret Barnes has accepted the position as Lead Casket Builder. Brett lives in San Diego and he and his wife are very familiar with
the Garden.
Bret will review the our plans for any needed improvements. He will also be responsible
for all questions regarding the building of caskets that come from inquirers or our volunteer builders.
We have long wanted to provide "casket kits" to volunteers who have construction skills but do not have the special saws needed to cut the angles of our caskets. We are excited that Brett will be working towards making casket kits available.
