We celebrate 10 years of service...
|
Approximately 35 donors and volunteers joined us in the garden on the morning of April 25 to celebrate ten years of service to our babies.
Since being chartered in May 1999, Garden of Innocence San Diego has provided dignified burials for 108 abandoned and/or unidentified children who died within our county. It was a beautiful event.
Our volunteer musician was Mr. Jim Earp and our officiate was Mr. Joe Erwin. After our memorial service, snacks were served and new Garden of Innocence DVDs were available for a $10 donation, as well as, baby name bracelets and magnets.

They are in His Arms

Joe Irwin was our officiate at the April 25th service. Joe, and his wife Leslie, have been supporters of Garden of Innocence for many years. His message was especially poignant and so we've published it on our web site:Death
of a child...hardest. We expect the old
to die... no surprise. But the death of a young child is a different matter. Continued

A Gift of Thanks
|
While our anniversary service recognized the support and help of our wonderful volunteers and donors, the Board of Garden of Innocence could not let this milestone pass without a special thank you to our Founder Elissa Davey and Co-founder, Rebecca Melendez. Master woodworker, Paul Fennell, built custom jewelry boxes for each made of Bubinga and Sycamore. Our dear friends and supporters at Keepsake Creations laser engraved the boxes for us.
