Spotlight On: Our Services Color Guard
|

The Knights of Columbus have served as our services Color Guard since our first child, Adam, was buried on June 19, 1999. Seven men served at that service and started a tradition that now, 98 children later, is a true legacy of conviction and love for the children of the garden.
There has never been a service without a Knights of Columbus color guard. When a burial is announced, our Knights of Columbus liaison, Larry Campitiello sends out the call for Color Guard volunteers and they never fail to answer, "Yes, we'll be there."
Our Knights, as we like to think of them, continue to be an integral part of each service as they escort each child into the Garden, "present arms" or have their swords at rest, depending on the part of the service in progress at the time. Each man in his Fourth Degree regalia, which includes formal dress, hat, sword and cape, lends a powerful dignity to the celebration of our child coming home to rest.
The Knights of Columbus have agreed to provide volunteers for all service responsibilities when we welcome our 100th child into the Garden. We are extremely grateful for their past service and thankful for their commitment to our children, who deserve all the honor the Color Guard provides.
