Greetings!

StopwatchWith the clock ticking down to the end of this legislative session, advocates are making final pushes for their priorities, and committees of lawmakers are working to find compromise on a number of bills, including the controversial casinos bill that aims to bring revenue and jobs to our state.

Maybe it's time to start talking again about taking a long, hard, comprehensive look at all of our state's priorities, and how we can reform both our budget and the revenues that support it.

For more information on revenue reform and how you can get involved in building a more stable, adequate, and balanced, fiscal future for our state, please contact ONE Massachusetts today!

Sincerely,

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
By 2013, the voice and input of the state's multi-racial, multi-ethnic communities will create a counterweight to the currently dominant voice and will be tangibly reflected in the public decision making process.
Paid Sick Days
Efforts continue in final week of session to keep Paid Sick Days in front of legislators.
Coalition members lead by moms and kids from MomsRising will meet at the Grand Staircase to deliver stories from moms across the Commonwealth who desperately need paid sick days before the school year begins. Advocates urge folks statewide to continue to place calls to Speaker DeLeo, House Ways and Means Chairman Murphy, and Senate President, Terry Murray in support of Paid Sick Days - H 1815/S 688. For more information, please contact JALSA.
