Unused Books Put to Great Use. |
Did you know that Imagination Library books that can't be delivered through the mail are put to good use?
Several Speech and Occupational Therapists at the SW/WC Service Cooperative have developed curriculums that utilize themes based around these books.
In addition, Imagination Library books are included in the Little Red Bookshelf program that places books where children can easily have access to them. Several area ECFE programs and child care centers utilize these books in their programs as well.
Did you know? Over 2,400 children in this area (ages 0-5) are enrolled to receive a quality, age appropriate book in the mail each month thanks to donors to the annual United Way of Southwest Minnesota campaign which allows us to be the local sponsor of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program. Every time an adult reads to a young child they are building critical school readiness skills! A $30 donation will sponsor one child for one year.
