Llama Llama invites you to help "Read for the Record" on Oct. 6 |
On Thurs, October 6 volunteers will read Anna Dewdney's Llama Llama Red Pajama throughout this area. Can you help?
Seventy-three (73) volunteers are needed in classrooms or libraries (mostly in the morning) to read this local favorite, to distribute activity sheets and to present children with a sticker saying that they helped to set a world record. United Way of Southwest Minnesota is a local partner in Jumpstart's "Read for the Record" campaign, a nationwide effort that draws attention to the importance of early literacy while setting a new world record for the largest shared reading experience on a single day. A special copy of the book will be left at the schools or libraries.
Volunteers are needed in Marshall, Lake Benton, Tracy, Canby, Granite Falls, Clarkfield, Hendricks, Ivanhoe, Lynd, Russell, Milroy, Minneota, Tyler, & Walnut Grove. Call 507-929-2273 or send an email.
Please contact us before noon, Monday, Sept. 26. |
