Women United for Early Childhood invite you to
Barbara Colorosotake part in Power of the Purse, Wednesday, May 5, 5:30 pm at Marshall Golf Club, Marshall, MN. 
 
This will be a fun filled evening featuring a silent auction of unique and extraordinary purses. Purse preview here.
 
Our speaker, Robin Asbell, is author of two cookbooks and is a culinary instructor.  She is an advocate for whole grains, whole foods and eating well. Dinner will feature her recipes.  Click here for more info about Robin. 
 
Proceeds benefit Imagination Library, an early literacy program that delivers free books to children in this area.

Special Cooking Class with a Purpose
Culinary instructor, Robin Asbell will also conduct a demonstration cooking class at the beautiful Schwan's R&D Center on Thursday, May 6 (10:00 am - noon).  She will talk about her work and methods and will prepare two recipes while you eat a lunch prepared using recipes from her cookbooks, The New Whole Grains Cookbook and New Vegetarian.  Robin teaches classes regularly at the Cooks of Crocus Hill (St. Paul & Edina), at The Chef's Gallery (Stillwater) and locations across the country.

Limited seats are available, $75 each.  You will receive copies of all recipes.  Robin will be assisted by SMSU Culinary Arts Students.  Proceeds will help provide school readiness materials for 750 children attending kindergarten round-ups in this area.

What will my donation accomplish?
Sponsor Imagination Library so that 2400 young children can continue to receive a quality, free book in the mail each month.
 
Give a special tote bag with tools to help build school readiness to 750 children attending kindergarten round-ups in this area each spring.
 
Underwrite annual parent education workshops to help families feel more confident and to build skills.
 
Provide mobile learning opportunities for preschoolers and their parents throughout this area each summer and winter.

Underwrite the Read to Me Newsletter (3x a year) for families with children enrolled in Imagination Library.
