The GruffaloThe Gruffalo returns for lunch at Canby's Arctic Blast on Sat., January 30.
 
Join one of the characters of a favorite Imagination Library book for soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, ice cream treats AND lots of reading by members of the community. There will be a Gruffalo coloring contest with prizes, also. 
 
There will be lots of good food, lots of fun and you can help raise some money so that more children can receive these wonderful books.

Free Tax Preparation Clinics
Tax clinics will run from Thursday, February 4 - Tuesday, April 13.  This service is for low-to moderate income individuals and families in this area.  Your donation to United Way of Southwest MN helps Western Community Action host the FREE tax clinics that include FREE e-filing, FREE benefits screening and FREE financial education information.

Plan to attend this year's parenting education presentation by noted parenting education speaker and author Barbara Coloroso.  Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 7:00 PM at Marshall, MN High School.  FREE! 
 
Do you live outside of Marshall?  Several communities plan to organize a bus.  Check with your school or ECFE.
 
Barbara will also present information from her book "The Bully, the Bullied, and the Bystander" for middle and high school students that afternoon.  Webcast arrangements have been made through Southwest/West Central Service Cooperative for schools throughout this area.

Donations to the annual campaign are still needed and appreciated.  All funds will work locally to make a difference in people's lives.

You can make change happen. United Way needs people who are passionate about education, income and health to let us know what is on their mind.
