| Join caring women from the area for the 2nd Annual Women United for Early Childhood Power of the Purse.
April 16, 2009 at the Marshall Golf Club - 5:30 p.m.
The evening will include a social hour, dinner and featured guest speaker, noted Minnesota children's author, Nancy Carlson.
Throughout the evening there will be a silent auction of purses and totes that have been donated to help raise money for United Way sponsorship of Imagination Library and other early childhood initiatives that work to prepare children for success in school.

Dolly Parton has specially autographed one of Nancy Carlson's books, Look Out Kindergarten Here I Come, for the silent auction. This book is part of the Imagination Library program.
This photo features that book along with items from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota Wild About Kindergarten Bags. These are given to each child who attends kindergarten round-ups in 21 area schools in our area. 800 children will receive one this spring. A portion of the event proceeds will help fund this school readiness kit project. |

Literacy Building Events like Llama, Llama Read-a-Rama and summer park Wild About Reading activities
