Spring Quarter 2011 Course Schedule
Dear CIHS Community,
Spring is upon us. I hope everyone is finding his or her educational experience challenging and fulfilling. Our migration onto Moodle is essentially complete, and it appears that everyone is engaged. I have heard from most of you that you are being challenged and learning. As an administrator, that is what I like to see. If you were not feeling challenged at some time during your program, you would not be learning and growing.
I also want to thank you for making my transition smooth. I am available to advise and guide you. Ultimately, of course, taking accountability of fulfilling your educational goals is up to you, but I am here to assist and help you navigate the process as best I can. Please feel free to email, call, or make an appointment to come in and see me. I am happy to review your program and course analytics at any time to make sure you are confident about the direction of your educational and professional goals.
The Winter quarter is drawing to an end, and it is time to think about what classes you are taking in the Spring. Registration week is March 14-18. To encourage timely registration, there will be a discount on each course unit if you sign up during this week. The Spring quarter officially begins March 28.
We will be offering the following:
Counseling and Communication Skills (core course). Dr. Sharon Mijares will be the instructor. If you have not had this, all students must take this class.
Chemical Dependency. This is a requirement for our licensure track psychology students. The instructor will be Dr. Sam Aganov.
Quantitative Statistics. This is a requirement for some of our psychology and/or life physics students. If you are a doctorate student, you may choose between quantitative or qualitative statistics. Dr. Clifford Weedman is the instructor for this course.
One of the program requirements for all CIHS students is a spiritual education requirement. We are offering two options to fulfill this requirement. Both are on campus as weekend workshops.
The first option is a yoga workshop entitled Chakra Awakening Workshop (second chakra). This will be taught by Yukihiro Takeshima and Paul Grilley.
The second option is AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy) by Dr. Mary Clark and Victoria Danzig. There is information about this course on our website.
Additionally, we will be offering Hinduism by Krishna Rao for our Comparative Religion and Philosophy students.
For our Integral Health and Life Physics students, we will be offering some exciting courses. In this program, we are excited to implement new courses many esteemed faculty in the field of subtle energy teaching.
Traditional Chinese Medicine & Subtle Energy System. Dr. Barbara Seymour and Dr. Toshiaki Harada will teach this course on campus.
