Dr Hiroshi Motoyama has evidenced through his academic studies and his own experience that the chakra-nadi system of Indian Yoga and meridian system of Chinese medicine are concerned with the same vital energy flow in the human body and were developed by people with different cultural backgrounds and modes of thinking. For the first time in history, he bridged the Indian chakras-nadis and Chinese meridians, and developed a self-help technique named the Motoyama Meridian Exercises, in which Yoga asanas (postures) are effectively practiced, considering the running course of the vital energy  flow as meridians and examining individual imbalance & spinal misalignments, so that the individual could restore his/her healthy balance. A healthy balance is a prerequisite not only to maintain physical and mental health but also to go into a deep state of meditation.
In addition to the traditional exercises, Dr Motoyama has developed a series of exercises to correct misalignment of the spine, hip-joint, and sacro-iliac joint and to stabilize the gravity center of the body.
During the workshop on Oct.31st and Nov.1st, Motoyama yoga will be introduced to the general public, focusing on the Meridian Exercises.
