Prelude to Karma & Reincarnation Workshop

"Blessed is he who has found his work. There is no other way to happiness", said Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, President of India, a great philosopher, a man of religion with scientific understanding. Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama, an internationally well-known scientist, a philosopher and a Shinto priest is one such. From his early formative years of life till of today in a ripe old age, he has travelled far and wide in search of spiritual evolution of the individual and humanity. He is the rare embodiment of the spark of Divinity as proclaimed in Hinduism that each human being is the spark of the Divine. Tat tvam asi that art thou. This is the teaching of the Upanishad.  Sensei contends, to develop spiritual evolution a full complete understanding of karma and reincarnation is essential. As mentioned in the Upanishad the theory of Karma is a spiritual consciousness. Karma and reincarnation, the two sides of a coin, is actually a personal encounter with the Divine. The atman or soul which has gone beyond the cycle of Karma and the cycle of reincarnation awaits the oneness with the Absolute, it has acquired the self actualization or enlightenment.  The ultimate realization in human life is acquiring spiritual freedom or moksha. In order to achieve this, one has to go beyond karma and reincarnation. A coherent attempt to understand the concept of karma, the so-called seeds of destiny that we have sown ourselves, and reincarnation where a soul is reborn again and again over many life cycles are explained by Dr. Motoyama from an anecdotal and theoretical standpoint.
In this workshop he discusses the various theories of karma, key concepts of karma related to individual, family, racial, national, geographic, etc. He also explains how to transcend the karmic cycle of physical death and life beyond, or reincarnation. In a nut shell this workshop gives a chance to understand the basic core of "I" and answers such questions as who we are, where we come from, and where we are heading to after the physical death. He explains how we can manipulate our karma and evolve into the stage of Boddhisatva.
In this modern world as we busily watch the sensational TV news, getting worried over the fluctuations of stock market, scan through the health, and popular gossip columns of the internet, or have our own blogs, we forget to answer the one mind blogging question that it is not the economic intellectual or social crisis that we are facing but the spiritual crisis. It is this crisis that is life threatening in our advanced civilization. Unfortunately we do not have satisfying answers. We need to have a correct answer to that question of spiritual crisis, an answer that will help us lead a simple, happy, humane life beyond race, religion, etc. We need to know how to live in the domain of love, compassion, and virtue while fulfilling our daily dharma, thus living a life beyond karma and reincarnation, a life fulfilling but detached; a life involved in the physical world but turned inwards to spirituality.
Dr. Motoyama's workshop helps us to learn and apply these aspects in our daily life. Sensei with his profound psychic understanding will give us, share with us rather his spiritual experiences encountered over many decades of his austere religious practice and meditation, and give us a hand to walk through the pathway of different being worlds from physical, astral, to causal, pursha and the ultimate Absolute.
