Drama As Therapy: A New Six-Week Training Program in the CANY Model of Drama Therapy
|
| CANY is thrilled to launch Drama As Therapy, a new six-week training program in the CANY model of drama therapy.
April 7 - May 12, 2011 Thursdays (6:00 - 9:00pm)
All Mental Health Professionals, Artists and Educators who are interested in using the creative arts as a tool for healing & personal growth are invited to attend. Each session of this program will be divided up into three components: the experiential, the theoretical and the supervisory. Among the many things that you will take away from this program, will be how to structure a complete creative therapy session from warm-up to closure and how to use metaphor to safely explore trauma. You will also be given a comprehensive training manual covering the CANY model of drama therapy.
CANY staff members Heidi Landis, RDT, LCAT, CP, CGP and Lucy McLellan, RDT-BCT, LCAT will lead this program. CANY offers up to 18 CEUs for many professions. In addition, an early registration discount is available for all participants who sign up prior to March 10th. To read the complete description and fee structure, to print a flyer and to register, click here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you to all of our past training workshop participants who helped us structure this new program. Your feedback was wonderful!

Help CANY Win $5,000 Towards our Mission
|
|
You write & CANY wins! ................................................
As we noted in our Special Edition of the CANY E-News this month, we have an opportunity to win the $5,000 prize that GuideStar USA, Inc. and KIMBIA are making available through their Winter 2011 GuideStar-KIMBIA Nonprofit Giveaway. This generous gift would allow us to use drama therapy to help children victimized by the trauma of violence to discover their potential and imagine a different future. What does this mean? The organization that receives the most reviews written prior to February 28, 2011 receives $5,000. Anyone with firsthand knowledge about us who is not a paid employee of CANY - donors, volunteers, board members, recipients of our services - can write a review about us on GuideStar. Your review will appear in our profile on both GuideStar and GreatNonprofits, GuideStar's partner. There is no charge for writing a review, but you are limited to posting only one review for our organization.
To write a review, please click here to be directed to CANY's page on the GuideStar website. Thank you to everyone who has already participated. Everyone at CANY is touched by your rave reviews!
For more information, see the official rules.
The giveaway begins on February 1, 2011, and ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT, February 28, 2011.
