Tennis Help What's the Call? Katrina Gildemeister, Certified USPTA P1, USTA Official, USTA Referee
What's the Call? A ball is hit at such an angle that the opponent has to run onto the adjacent court to retrieve it. The opponent might have a play on the ball but the player on the adjacent court is in the way. Should the point be replayed or is the person on the adjacent court considered to be a permanent fixture while their match is being played?
Ruling: The person on the adjacent court is considered to be a permanent fixture. The point should not be replayed. If a player were to come onto your court, you could call a hindrance let.
