Those that are born in Texas, as I was, read the word, "T-
land" and think, "Oh, yes, Texas-Land, but of course!".
That's what "us" Texans say--T-land--a separate land and
place, indeed!
Because I also do Thai Massage and have studied and
traveled in Thailand many times, T-land could also refer
to, yes, you have it, "Thailand". For this article, we will
talk about the latter.
Amazingly, it's been 3 years since I've been back to T-
land. Crazy that it's been that long, really. I've taken a
marriage and a dog under my belt since my last visit. It's
about time to head back to the land of lemongrass.
Adam, my husband, and I are leaving tomorrow, Sat, the
14th, for T-land, continent of Camphor. He's never been
to an Asian country, and it will be exciting to introduce
him to such a different culture.
Thailand is where I've done all of my training for Thai
Massage. For our voyage in a few days, we'll be visiting
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Khao Lak, and Phuket--it will be 2
weeks of fantastic fun and adventure.
Here are a few quotes that inspire me about the art of
travel:
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-
mindedness." - Mark Twain
"No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he
comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar
pillow." - Lin Yutang
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel
for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." - Robert
Louis Stevenson
"Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers
and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and
friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours
except the essential things - air, sleep, dreams, the sea,
the sky - all things tending towards the eternal or what
we imagine of it." - Cesare Pavese
"A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on
arriving." - Lao Tzu
"The first condition of understanding a foreign country is
to smell it." - Rudyard Kipling
I hope you will revel and dwell on these darling words. I
will.
