Airport Store Opens in Bozeman, Montana

The next time you fly into Bozeman, Montana, be sure to visit our newest store, Destination Yellowstone, at the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. Destination Yellowstone is a collaborative effort by Yellowstone's primary nonprofit partners, the Yellowstone Association and the Yellowstone Park Foundation.

The Park Store sells educational books, maps, and guides to help travelers understand and enjoy Yellowstone National Park and the greater Yellowstone area, as well as items to help make the most of any trip. The staff at our information desk help to orient travelers and provide the latest park information, including details on road closures and wildlife sightings. The latter are illustrated on a web-based LCD map. Coming soon are interactive, educational exhibits, including a live view of Old Faithful and information on park geology and wildlife.

"This project will benefit travelers who want a better orientation and understanding of the park," said Jeff Brown, executive director of the Yellowstone Association. "We also believe it will pique the interest of airport travelers not headed to the park who may want to visit on their next trip to the area." Sales of educational materials will generate income in support of the National Park Service.

"Destination Yellowstone will highlight some of Yellowstone's unique treasures, such as its abundance of hydrothermal features and wildlife," said Yellowstone Park Foundation President Karen Bates Kress. "Additionally, we hope to raise awareness of the role of nonprofit park partners and engage more visitors in helping us with our conservation missions."

Destination Yellowstone is located before security checkpoints by baggage claim so locals can also visit the store, which is open from 10 a.m. to midnight daily. Please stop by to say hello the next time your travels take you through Bozeman.
