Homeschooling just seems like real work. Most parents say it is highly rewarding work - but work just the same. Meeting the demands of teaching along with all the other demands in life can be tough. The one demand we hear parents pulling their hair out over is helping their kids with tough subjects. Now we are offering a support package for any math, science, English, or literature curriculum. We have on staff certified tutors in college calculus, English, literature, and a variety of college science classes. So we are ready to help!

What do I do after high school?
Many parents contact us asking for advice on preparing their kids for college. They ask us about the right courses, how to do homework, and plenty of things that let us know a large majority of our students are thinking about college after high school. But is that the right path for every student? Well, we can't make that decision for you, but we CAN give you some advice on how to find the right path for your student after high school.
Why am I being educated?

As a high schooler, you become educated because you are told to be educated. Hopefully as a senior, you are looking out at your future as a lifelong educational opportunity. Since college only lasts 4 years on average, I must be talking about a different kind of education than just sitting in a classroom.

As a matter of fact, I am. I'm talking about getting smarter, more knowledgeable, not just passing an exam and getting a gold star next to your name.

Education--be through school or experience----is a  means towards being a productive individual able to reach the goals you set and participate intelligently in the world around you. You develop skill sets that make you able to do a job well. That seems obvious enough, but so many people just leap after "higher education" without really thinking about why they need higher education that we felt we needed to make some clarifications.

If you are headed into a career that requires a degree, such as being a doctor, lawyer or engineer, then college is the route for you. You will not be able to pursue those careers without a degree, since a college degree (and in some cases Masters or doctorates as well) are required.

But what about the entrepreneurs among us? What about the missionaries, writers, editors, and inventors? Sometimes people can be successful---AND make good money-----without a college degree.

GASP! But it's true! If you are going to go to college take the time to know why. Do you know what you like? Do you know what you want to do? If the career path you want for your future requires college as a stepping stone, then go for it. But the real decision to be made once you graduate high school is not which college to go to--but what do you want to do with your life? You've got a million options laying before you. Take time to consider them. Seek education as a lifestyle, not as a diploma.

We are writing an eBook
for High Schoolers
who are about to graduate.

So many students make the assumption that college is their "13th year" in schooling. But that is just the wrong approach to high school graduation.Too many students never take the time to consider what they want from life, where they want to go career wise, or how they want to be spending their 9-5s 10 years from now.

You know these people, you either went to school with them, or now you are these people. Kids who go to college with no set goals for their future are now adults who hate their jobs. They went to college because it was the thing to do, got a degree in something they could write home about, and now they have jobs that pay the rent and have nothing to do with the 20,000+ dollar, 4+year education they paid for years ago.

Our kids don't have to turn into just another adult who hates their 9-5. But we have to teach them NOW how to identify their passions, their gifts and their talents, and then show them how to use them in the real world--with or without college.

So far we are writing about these topics:
  • what courses to take in high school to be prepared for college?
  • How do I find out what I like?
  • Identify your passion and interest by creating a passion/interest profile
  • Discover careers that use your particular interests.
  • find out what kinds of educational options are available for what you like to do
  • Learn how to interview well
  • Learn how to make the job market work for you
  • how do I know if college is right for me?
  • if college is the right path, how do I get there?
  • how do I pay for college?
  • What if I don't need college? then what?
  • Can I be successful without college?
  • I thought only billionaires ever made it without college. What about me?

Learn what you like, do what you like, reach YOUR goals and be happy doing it.
That's what our eBook is all about.
