Greetings!

Two topics for you to consider this month:

1. Have you identified your Life Verse yet, so you can be sure of God's plan for your life?

2. Has your church and denomination or Bible College embraced Life Coaching yet?

Life Verse

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me-the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 NLT

Second Timothy 4 talks about fighting the good fight, finishing the race, remaining faithful, and winning the prize of a crown. But none of that's possible if you run the race in the wrong direction! Try this advice for a straight shot at victory: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal a Scripture verse, a life verse, to you that solidly confirms the direction and route God has mapped out for your life. This passage will not only become a motto for your God-designed, personal, recovery plan, but it'll also assure you that you're not running toward the wrong, unique life purpose. When all your plans are rooted in God's Word, and they've been revealed to you by the power of the Holy Spirit, you'll emerge victorious!

My life verse, for example, is Isaiah 61:3, about helping people grow into all God created them to be-specifically, into oaks of righteousness that reflect his glory: "They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor." It sure fits with God's plan for my life.

Although it's impossible to know whether your life verse or your life mission will be revealed first, they will complement one another perfectly and be a focal point for your recovery testimony. To discover a verse that fits the theme of your life, begin with a prayer of expectation and stay tuned to God's Word.

Soul Search

What Scripture comes to mind as a possible life verse? Once the Holy Spirit reveals the perfect verse for you, will you memorize it, share it with your sponsor or support group, and reflect on it often to help you stay focused on the prize?

Spirit of Truth, I expectantly await the tandem confirmation that my life verse will give to my life mission-and that my life mission will give to my life verse. I also look forward to how the Scripture will reflect my recovery story.
