Praying for Purpose

August 2012 E-Newsletter

 Join us in New Mexico
at our 2012 Worldwide Coaching Conference!

Greetings!

What a summer so far! I'm thrilled to say that, as of this moment, I only have fifteen devotionals left to write for my Tyndale manuscript, entitled One-Year Recovery Devotional to be published in 2013. It's where the Road to Recovery meets the Pathway to Purpose! I want to thank all who prayed me through the writing, as I took care of my 92-year-old dad for eight months; then packed up his home of fifty years and moved him into my brother and sister-in-law's home with only his bed, recliner, toiletries, and prayer books; celebrated his release to heaven; and grieved deeply for six weeks after he passed. The fact that I'm three weeks away from completion of the book now seems surreal without being able to share the news with him face-to-face with a hug.

I've been humbled quite a bit this summer by opportunities that only God could have orchestrated. He's up to something God-sized, and I'm not quite sure what it is, so I ask you to pray for me and with me as he reveals more of his plan for our ministry! I was invited to...

  • Become a member of the 2012 Advisory Board for the graduate programs at Rockbridge Seminary.
  • Be a Track Coordinator for the "Life Coaching, Mediation and Consulting" Track at the 2013 AACC World Conference (for the American Association of Christian Counselors) to be held September 11-14, 2013, at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.
  • Be a contributing author of a "coaching lesson" for Georgia Schaffer's upcoming book entitled, Coaching the Coach: Lessons from Christian Coaches. (To be released in late 2012.)
  • Say a few words at the graduation ceremony in Norco, CA, for fourteen of our students for Life Purpose Coaching Centers International®. These are our first Professional Master Life Coach grads! (See pics below.)

Pray with me regarding our 2012 Worldwide Coaching Conference in New Mexico, October 1-5, and for our host, Dr. Lendell Nolan and his staff. Ask God to send just the right students to join our guests registered from South Africa and France, as well as the US. I can only imagine how the Holy Spirit is planning on blessing us, as we gather at Grace Community Church in our LPCCI Coaching Center to train others how to move coaching into their churches. I can see evidence that coaching is the next ministry to "take hold" in churches, just like lay counseling and recovery ministries have done in the past--and it's a dream of mine to see this happen! (See poster below.)

Three Other Quick Announcements:

  • Pray with me as we await final word from the Center for Credentialing & Education, regarding our ministry's approval as a Board-Certified Coach Training Provider. We've been working on this since October and should hear this week!
  • Look for the ICCA (International Christian Coaching Association) magazine article that I was honored to be able to write. It comes out in August for members and is entitled, Health and Wellness Coaching: 8 Keys to Success. As a Board Member for ICCA, I urge you to join this organization sponsored by AACC. The cost is low and the benefits are huge!
  • If you are planning on joining us in New Mexico, please let us know immediately, as Roswell is a small airport and flights are getting harder to secure, plus we'll need to close out our block of hotel rooms one month prior to the conference. Alumni, please join me as my guest in any classes you've taken previously and check out our latest offerings. I'd L-O-V-E to see you and have you help us with our newest coaching class!

Grads with Katie

Dr. Rev. Jeff and Pastor Nancy Jernigan,

Co-Instructors at the Norco, CA Center

The Professional Master Life Coach (PMLC) course meets IACET, ICCA, AACC, and ICF requirements for academic accreditation, as well as state requirements (where applicable) for certification as a mental health professional within the professional coaching discipline. This new course offers many niche areas for life coaching. The Life Purpose Coach® course remains the same and complements this instruction.

july newsletter
With my Irish heritage kicking in, I share this traditional, Gaelic blessing: "May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand."

Sincerely,
