I would not forget you!
See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Isaiah 49:15-16 NLT
|
Greetings!
I'm sending prayers out with this E-newsletter, asking God to once again show his magnificence in your life. I ask him to be your Provider, Protector, Peace, and Purpose. I ask him to make himself visible to you in your greatest area of need and to reignite your passion for your unique purpose.
I'm thanking God that we just got news of approval for our
2012 Worldwide Conference
in Roswell, New Mexico in October!
(See article in next block for details.)
I'm grateful, too, for an incredible blessing for our ministry. We just got word that our newest devotional, The Way I'm Wired: Discovering Who God Made Me to Be, was the bestselling book for Group Publishing in 2011 in the youth market. In addition, it sold 504 copies in one day in January 2012! That's exciting to hear. Pray with us that our readers hear clearly from God regarding his plan for them and that they will take definitive steps to fulfill his call on their lives. (If you are looking for a great book that unpacks 100 Scripture passages about your life purpose from Genesis to Revelation, this book's for you. Just click on the image in the Left Block area to order.)
Course #101 (Life Purpose Coach®) and Course #301 (2-Day Intensive Life Plan Facilitator) starting in mid-February! Email us for details.
Family News: My family and I spent last week moving my Dad out of his large home and into my brother and sister-in-law's house nearby, where he's being treated like a king! My father was just given 6-10 months to live, now that his kidney function recently dropped to 7%, which represents Stage 5 renal failure, the final stage of life. He had been doing so well, but several weeks ago, he began to have a few bad days intermixed between his typical fabulous days. Prayers appreciated, as we all prepare our hearts to have God usher him into his Kingdom. Dad is certainly enjoying his latest adventures on earth, but he can't wait to meet Jesus face-to-face!

Sample of 365-Day Recovery Devotional
for Tyndale House Publishers
By Dr. Katie Brazelton
Prayers appreciated for a deadline of March 15th, when devotionals #100-200 are due! Hope you enjoy this sample.
January 16: God Claims Me
I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands (Isaiah 49:15-16 NLT).
God wrote Jerusalem's name on the palms of his hands to proclaim to its people that he constantly looked upon the ruins of its walls and would never forgot its descendents. May this passage serve as a reminder to you that God tenderly watches out for you, too, claiming you as his own. You're always in his sight; his eyes are ever upon you-just as anything is that's held closely in one's hand. This gesture is a public pronouncement that God is ever mindful of you; that he's concerned with your safety and will protect you. It means that no evil force or ineffectual god can claim you; it means you have God's power available to you at all times, because he cares deeply about every detail of your life and especially about restoring you to wholeness. Inscribing your name on his hands is God's physical display of affection and affirmation that says, "Be comforted in knowing that you are mine, no matter what the circumstances of your life."
I was comforted when my orthopedic surgeon wrote his initials in blue ink on both my thumbs, prior to Trigger Thumb surgeries. I'd been told about the "Sign Your Site" protocol that prevents a surgeon from performing a wrong site surgery. Apparently, there's a twenty-five percent chance a surgeon will cut into a wrong site during a typical thirty-five-year career. So, I was thrilled to know that my doctor was watching out for me and marking the correct tendons, before cutting into my membranes. How much more reassuring and calming is it when God claims us for his own by marking our names on his hands? Soul Search
What does God's claim on your life mean to you? Is it worth giving up the things that entangle you-grip you-so you can take joy in fulfilling his call on your life?
God above all gods, thank you for choosing me and writing my name on the palms of your hands. Out of gratitude, I want to spend the rest of my life loving you with all I've got. |
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalms 51:10 NIV
Prayers are appreciated for the 365-Day Recovery Devotional I'm writing for Tyndale's "One Year" line. Each day discusses the idea that discerning and fulfilling our life purpose can help us heal. The publisher has approved one hundred devotionals so far. I have another one hundred devos due on March 15th, so I could sure use your prayers.Sincerely, Dr. Katie Brazelton
