Happy Holidays from The Artist's Inn and Gallery |
Greetings!
At this special time of year, we are so grateful to have met you and shared a smile, some conversation and a maybe a cookie or two. We know how busy your lives are and we feel truly blessed to have been a part of them.
Each year is a time of hellos and goodbyes. We were sad to say goodbye to our cat, Pongo, in August. But we welcomed Jack and Chardonnay in September. If you'd like to meet them, just mention it the next time you visit.
We are throwing our 4th Annual New Year's Party on December 31 - if you can get away, it is open to all guests and friends. Just bring a dish, we'll provide a jigsaw puzzle (the die-hards won't leave until it's completed) and prizes for the winning team of the 2008 Trivia Contest (alsways the guys against the girls).
We offer gift certificates for getaways, culinary tours and artwork. They can be personalized for any person on your gift list. Give us a call or order online. You'll earn one With Six You Get Pix point for each night booked.
We wish you a happy 2009. When life gets a little too hectic, remember the peace and quiet of Lancaster County and schedule a visit. The slower pace will soothe your soul.

A Cure for the January Blues
When the cold winds of January swirl and the excitement of the holidays has passed, we have the cure to warm you - our Lancaster County Wine and Cheese Tour on January 24. We'll explore two cheese farms, two wineries, enjoy lunch and top off the day with a five-course gourmet meal. (This group enjoyed dinner at Lily's on Main on our November tour). No driving, no tipping, no two tours are ever the same, just eating, drinking and having fun! This would be a perfect Christmas gift for that special person on your list. See details here. Check this page often for a list of updated tours and specials throughout the year. We are planning two new ones, An undiscovered Amish Tour in March and a Paranormal Tour planned for Halloween. Details forthcoming. |
Here's a new recipe I tried for Thanksgiving. Judging by the empty plates, it's a nice mix of tart and sweet that's sure to please.
Cranberry-Pear Pie
2 Pie Crusts 2/3 cup sugar 3 Tablespoons Instant Tapioca ¼ Teaspoon Fresh Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract 3 lbs. Pears - peeled, cored, sliced 2 cups fresh Cranberries ¼ cup Pear Nectar 2 Tablespoons Butter Egg White, Sugar Roll your favorite Pie crust and fit into pan, keep the second crust for the top. In a bowl, stir together all ingredients except butter. Put into the pie shell. Dot with the butter and cut the second crust into strips. Place them on the top of the pie, brush with egg white wash and sprinkle with sugar. Place on a cookie sheet lined with a silpat in case the juice oozes over. Bake at 375 for about 50 minutes. Enjoy!
