Greetings!

We are enjoying the best weather of the year - warm days and cool nights.  All around are mums, pumpkins, and farmers harvesting their crops.  Our fall breakfasts feature the freshest ingredients and the best produce our farmers have to offer.  So don't wait too long to visit - there are lots of things to do and this weather won't last forever!
We've started a blog - it's a little bit of a look at innkeeping, a persperctive from an artist's point of view and a glimpse as to what it's like to live in Lancaster County....we hope you enjoy it.
Upcoming Culinary Tours

Two Fisted HughOnly two tours remain for this year.  September 14 through 16 is our first ever Wine Camp!  We'll start on the porch on Sunday evening enjoying hors d'oeuvres and listen to Selena Man, owner of Cafe Chocolate in Lititz, as she explains the two foods in the world that have the most flavor notes - chocolate, and of course, wine!  On Monday we'll explore Berks and Lehigh Valley wineries, learning a different component of wine-making at each stop.  We'll enjoy a wine-paired lunch and dinner.  Tuesday we'll head to the Brandywine Valley to discover four wineries - one of which has just opened and is enjoying rave reviews from the Philadelphia Inquirer.  We'll top off the tour with camp awards and an over-the-top wine-tasting dinner.  Gary will join us as our driver and all tastings, tours, a gift from your hosts, two lunches and three dinners are included in the $395/person price.  Lodging is extra and you are welcome to join us for the day or entire tour.  Call soon to reserve your seat.  This tour will be LOTS of fun.

About the picture on the right - "Two-Fisted Hugh" (the name has been changed to protect the guilty) is shown here enjoying one of our wine tours.

Wine and Cheese Tour - On November 15, we'll have our last Wine and Cheese Tour for the year - this time discovering a new Amish goat cheese farmer and ending the day with a multi-course wine paired dinner at Lily's on Main.  The cost of $275/couple includes all tastings, tours, lunch, a gift from your hosts, dinner and transportation.

These tours are planned for 2009 - Details will follow in the next newsletter but be sure to save these dates.  As always, we partner wth Carl Kosko, the innkeeper of Harvest Moon B&B, for our tours - so if our rooms are full, please give them a call.
