Greetings!
It is funny to think back to the conversations about the cold we had during the blizzard on sultry days like today, isn't it?
The new survey component of News and Notes was a HUGE success! Thank you to everyone who responded. We are so impressed with the caliber of this group. Based on your enthusiasm, the survey stays. We'll pose a Director's Challenge each issue and then share a tip and trends with the whole group.
Thank you, Jane Banister (Director at Hoya Kids), for using the Director's Network News and Notes as a way to invite you and your staff to share excellent training her staff at a huge discount. Learn more in the Out and About section below.
That is exactly why we have the network - so all directors and administrators in the region can share, connect and support each other.
Please continue to let us know how this network can serve you best. Thank you for the work you do,
Amy and Candace

TIP OF THE MONTH: When teachers call out...
The best advice I have for other or new directors about what to do when a teacher (or several) calls out is...
"We have teachers call their team after they speak to an administrator. This keeps them accountable to each other. For those teachers that show up and work the extra hours, be sure and notice and tell them you appreciate them!"
TRENDS IN THE NETWORK: When teachers call out...
- You use your floaters/regular staff.
- You maintain an active substitute list.
- You shift adults, not children, because you agree that would be less developmentally appropriate.
