Final 590 Lane Corrections to be Completed Tonight

Last fall after Route 590 was repaved and painted with new lane configurations, I hosted a community forum to allow you to directly communicate with local NYS Department of Transportation (DOT) officials.

The combination of your comments and the open-mindedness of the DOT professionals at that meeting produced a plan to modify the new lane configuration to expand various lanes and merges. Some of those changes were done immediately last November before the winter weather settled in.

The rest of the changes were promised to happen during this year's construction season. You have probably noticed a lot of road work along Route 104 at the 590 interchange for the past several weeks. Now that this repaving is near completion, DOT will be making the final lane modifications to 590 near the 104 interchange.

Lane modifications on 590 are scheduled to begin TONIGHT around 7pm. Work will be completed overnight and portions of the highway will be closed during that time.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or comments on this matter and please drive safely.
