Big Changes for 2010!

This year we are starting off in a whole new direction with a new website and a new email design!  The website will have lots of bells and whistles for visual media, details of products, faster checkout -- everything that comes with the next tech plateau.  We are happy!

We also made some changes to our business model.  In this economy, it's not possible for us to rely on membership income -- that issue plus the very stringent reporting rules for non-profits (a good thing!) leave us few resources for doing what we do best, working with patterns and pattern people.  So we have become a regular company and as such we'll be able to offer more and better pattern related products and events and operate much more smoothly.

The Center for Pattern Design will now be open to everyone, no membership fee, starting today, and everyone who is on the email list will receive the whole email which will now come more frequently, on a monthly basis.

Those of you who have paid memberships entitling you to discounts, access to the CoPA Archives and reduced class fees will still retain those perks and access to the Library until June 30, 2010. At that time all members whose year has not expired will be reimbursed on a pro-rated basis for the remaining time.
New website visitors will not receive those discounts. To get your member perks YOU MUST sign in as a member. See how-to by looking at the CoPA instructions below.

This is all about remaining nimble in the business environment we have now and looking for new ways to bring you more and better pattern information and opportunities as we greet 2010.

Lastly, many of us have mourned the loss of pattern skills and the subsequent dearth of creativity. The mission here will always be to help retain and re-instill those skills in both new generations and the marketplace.  Thank you for your support in making those goals possible; we are very grateful.

May you enjoy one of the best years ever -- 2010!
