MANNA continue to provide this vital, free service to people living
with life-threatening illnesses right here in the greater Philadelphia
region.
Visit www.mannapies.org - there you will find information on pie types, pick-up locations, and how to order. The deadline for ordering pies is Friday, November 20 at noon. Pie pick-up day is Tuesday, November 24 from 3-8pm. Questions, call 215-496-2662 x136.
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED: Visit the site to find out how you can volunteer to help promote, distribute and deliver pies.
You can become a pie seller, or start your own pie group and compete with other sellers and groups to win top seller honors. Last year, Pie Sellers helped MANNA sell almost half of the total pies sold. This year, with your help, we hope to do even more. Sign up today!

client outcomes at the Pennsylvania
Ryan White All Parts Summit
 The
summit was a day and half long program that brought together HIV/AIDS service
providers from across the commonwealth to share best updates and best practices
in care for people living with HIV/AIDS. Cyndi presented an abstract "Enhancing
Services Improves Outcomes" that she and Ann Hoskins-Brown, MANNA's Director of Institutional Giving, co-authored
describing the many enhancements we have implemented at MANNA over the past
fiscal year.

Cocktails for a Cure
launches in Philly for MANNA!
Kimpton's Hotel Palomar Philadelphia at 117 South 17th Street is raising funds for MANNA during November.
Cocktails for a Cure: From November 1 through December 1, visit Square 1682 restaurant  or the lounge at the Hotel Palomar Philadelphia and purchase a featured cocktail from master mixologist Jacques Bezuidenhout. Kimpton will donate $1 for each cocktail purchased to MANNA. Click here for a list of featured cocktails.

The Klein Company selects MANNA as its "5k AnyWay Race" beneficiary
On September 13, walkers, run-walkers, bikers,  and runners came out for The Klein Company's "5k AnyWay Race" on the beautifully landscaped grounds of The Klein Company's Townline Apartment Community in Blue Bell, PA. This fundraising effort, undertaken by The Klein Company employees and vendors, was successful in raising over $8,700 for MANNA, which also included a gracious donation by The Klein Company.
MANNA's own Meg Paszko, Development Associate, participated in the 5k race and placed first out of over 70 racers. After the race, racers and guests sat down to a big picnic supper under a
tent. MANNA would like to express its gratitude to The Klein Company employees for selecting MANNA as one of this year's race beneficiaries.

Tax-Free IRA Rollovers to Charity extended through December 31, 2009
The tax-free charitable IRA rollover was extended until
December 31, 2009 as part of The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of
2008. Under this legislation, you may be able to make a gift from an IRA
to MANNA and exclude the transferred amount from your taxable income, if:
- the
transfer goes directly from your IRA to MANNA
- your
gift does not exceed $100,000
- your
gift counts toward the required minimum distribution from your IRA, and
- the
transferred amount is not included in your taxable income.
