BuildaBridge International
Fall 2011 News!

Greetings!

BuildaBridge is gearing up for another season of international service with its Diaspora of Hope arts trainings and camps in Nicaragua, Haiti, Congo and Kenya. Thanks are in order to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, who hosted our Artology exhibit for the past three months. Meanwhile, the Discovery and Refugee Collaborative programming are finding their rhythm. It's been great to reconnect with alumni through our phone calls.

We welcome our new interns: Du-Ying, Tracie Blummer, and Brittany Witcher. Du-Ying and Tracie are lending their Masters level educations to strengthen and focus BuildaBridge's international programming. Brittany is our new Development intern, assisting with grants and our Painting A Brighter Future campaign. BuildaBridge also said good-bye to two great leadership interns who helped us through our strategic planning: Julia Crawford and Jamaine Smith.
Painting A Brighter Future - Think 3:30
Think 3:30

Thank you to those who have already donated and joined us in
Thinking 3:30! We have raised $1,867.00 to date, leaving $23,133 to reach our goal of $25,000. Think 3:30 and partner with us by sharing your stories (email them to our Development Associate), and donating to out-of-school programming. Read Programs Administrator Danielle Dembrosky's Dancing 5 Days A Week, as an example of the transforming stories you can share with us. If 2,500 people can give $10 each, we reach our goal and can continue providing arts-based intervention and educational programming.

BuildaBridge would like to publicly thank past Teaching Artist Mindy Flexer and Institute faculty Lynne Farrow for incorporating Think 3:30 fundraising activities and marketing initiatives into their events. Lynne Farrow went on to share a post on the ArtBlog: Sun and Shadows. We also want to thank Laura Mufson, Director of Theatre and Department Chair of Fine Arts at Mercersburg Academy, who led her school in its decision to make BuildaBridge their Charity of the Year.

More thank you's are in order for Artist Dan Curry and Mary Kay Beauty Consultant Vivian Castillo, who will donate 50% and 25% of their sales, respectively. Learn more about how your purchase of artwork, beauty products or a consultation can help us!
