Welcome to BuildaBridge
Greetings!
BuildaBridge is celebrating some great art-making by children in Philadelphia through an Art in City Hall exhibit that ended last week. Celebration has encouraged us on for the coming months with planning for our 10th Annual Institute, summer Artology program, continued work in Haiti, and a new program with refugee children in Philadelphia through a collaborative funded by the Department of Behavioral Health.
When you click through for more information on these items, you will see a new website. In several weeks we hope to unveil the new website that has integrated features of job postings, social networking features for BuildaBridge groups, and blog entries for news and information about our programs.
Thank you for your continued support. We appreciate your assistance in fulfilling an important mission.

Art In City Hall
 | | Getting Ready |
There was the usual backstage jitters and meticulous preparations. Scores of youth from BuildaBridge Community programs across the city gathered for the opening night of BuildaBridge's Art Exhibit entitled My Home is in My Heart: An Artistic Inquiry of Place, Home & Belonging by Philadelphia's Children. Mama Magi (right), as the kids call Magira Ross who is the coordinator of the Community Programs, moved about the backstage area checking dance attire, easing the nerves, and generally directing the fidgety and anxious lot.

Meeting a Guatemalan Legend

Quo Vadis Art Therapia?
It is a long title and one you would expect at an academic congress--Arts for Relief and Development: developing non-clinical psycho-social support for hope, healing and resilience through creative art-making in the community context. The Congress title was even longer.
