Final Celebration
By J. Nathan Corbitt It is the final day. More than one young person was voicing aloud, "I am nervous."
Parents
gathered in the foyer full of gratitude that their children had a
meaningful and structured program during the Christmas break--many work
and their children are restricted to the house during the day, some
without supervision. The faculty arrived very early to prepare the

2008 Funders
By Kathleen McLaughlin Many thanks to the individuals, organizations and corporations who supported BuildaBridge in 2008. With your support BuildaBridge is able to engage the transformative power of the arts to bring hope and healing to children and families around the world. We rely on the generosity of foundations, companies, individuals, and others to provide life-changing arts-integrated transformational experiences to children and families with little or no access to the arts. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of children in Philadelphia and around the world. (Read more...) |

An Enchanted Evening with The Snow Queen By Anna Murphey
On December 15, 2008, students in BuildaBridge's Drama class at People's Emergency Center (PEC), an emergency housing facility in West Philadelphia, travelled to the Prince Music Theater in Center City, Philadelphia for a very special performance. Accompanied by BuildaBridge Teaching Artist Nicole Krieger, Classroom Assistants Chelsea Andrews and Jonathan Steadman, and PEC staff members, the students travelled to Center City by trolley, admiring the holiday lights and decorations around City Hall before walking a short distance to the Prince Music Theater on South Broad Street, Philadelphia's "Avenue of the Arts."
