SHAWN THOMAS in Concert |
On Saturday, September 27th at 6:20pm at Touchstone, Christian recording artist Shawn Thomas will present a worship concert. Shawn is an "out and affirming" contemporary Christian artist whose musical background is as varied as his spiritual journey. He grew up in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and now incorporates traditional with non-traditional spiritual experiences believing that practices of faith and grace are never in conflict. He uses music as an expression of his faith including styles of music ranging from praise/worship, to pop/dance, to country/folk to rock/soul. For those who work on Sundays consider worshipping on select Saturday nights with Touchstone at MCCGD! TOUCHSTONE is a spiritual community offering a worship alternative - alternative time and alternative style!

Call it Evangelism! Call it Outreach! Call it Mission! Call it Pride in Your Faith! Call it Pride in God's Inclusive Love!
Let healthy spiritual pride show as you celebrate GLBT Pride in Dallas, this Sunday. March in the Pride Parade with representatives of all 5 MCC's. We will wear "Would Jesus Discriminate?" T-Shirts and remind the GLBT community that Jesus did not discriminate even if some of his followers do! This is an important event for us to have as many people as possible participate. You can still get your WJD T-Shirt Sunday morning and we will bring extras to the parade. We will have business cards for you to give to people with both the church and WJD website information. Proclaim God's inclusive love! Let the community know that MCC is here celebrating 40 years worldwide with 39 years in DFW! |
The Parade begins at 2pm so people are encouraged to be in line no later than 1:30pm. That means there is plenty of time to come to church and still get to the parade! Remember that parking is a challenge on parade day. Come to church and connect with others so that you can carpool and perhaps leave a car near the end of the parade route and have another drive back to the beginning or you can walk back along the route and see all the entries in the parade ahead of ours. We are entry #42 which will be somewhere along Wycliffe off of Cedar Springs. |
We invite you to bring sandwiches, chips, fruit, and/or cookies. We can share our sandwiches and goodies with fellowship at the church AND take some with us to eat at the parade. Through sharing, the intent is to provide an easy and inexpensive lunch for everyone at church and have ample time to get to the parade.
