JOIN IN COMMUNITY PRAYER ON WEDNESDAYS: Reflection and Prayer Call - 7:15pm - 8:00pm
Need a mid-week lift? Call in for a positive word of encouragement.
Need to feel connected? Share in this form of community as we pray with and for each other.
Don't want to pray publicly? You don't have to! You can join the prayer call and share your prayer requests and praises or you can participate by listening and praying in the quiet of your heart.
Working on Sundays? Connect with your church community on Wednesdays.

| The "Would Jesus Discriminate?" Campaign Hits the Streets!

Calling All Singers
All singers, experienced or inexperienced with choral singing, are invited to form a CHOIR at MCCGD!
We will rehearse one Sunday afternoon after worship and one Saturday afternoon a month plus early the Sunday morning that we sing in Worship. Sign-up today to indicate your interest. We will send out a list of rehearsal dates to all those who are interested. Sign up at the reception desk at the church or via email to office@mccgd.org. If you know what voice part you sing, please let us know that as well.
Let's "make a joyful noise to our God" as we sing God's praises!

CAMPAIGN EVENTS
THIS SATURDAY, August 23rd - Suzanne Westenhoffer Performance - Lakewood Theatre
- You and your friends will have a fabulous evening! (Please invite your friends!) PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE!
- You will help raise funds to finance the "Would Jesus Discriminate?" Campaign outreach into DFW! The campaign budget stands separately from the budgets of the 5 MCC congregations although each church is giving 1% of income to the Campaign.
- Have a laugh and put up a billboard. Such a deal!
TICKETS AVAILABLE online! Reserved seats are sold out! Main floor ($30)and balcony tickets ($20)are still available. Why not arrange for a group of your friends to attend together? Don't forget to tell them about the limited ticket "schmooze" event after the performance at Nobu (at the Crescent Hotel). Sunday, August 31st - GLBT Wedding and Anniversary Expo - Grapevine Convention Center
Are you planning to get married in California and celebrate in Texas? Know someone who is? Are you planning a recommitment ceremony or an anniversary celebration? This is another fabulous fun fundraiser for the WJD Campaign that will introduce you to vendors who serve our community! You will get great ideas and resources, have a lot of fun and support the Campaign. Everybody benefits!
Advance tickets to the EXPO are available at the church for a low price of $8. Day of tickets at the door will be $10. There will also be a drawing for awesome door prizes. Mark your calendar and plan to attend the GLBT Wedding and Anniversary Expo!
T-Shirts and Bumper Stickers are here and available in our Bookstore. Bumper stickers $1 recommended donation and T-Shirts $8. Get them this week and begin asking others the question "Would Jesus Discriminate?"

Saturday, September 6th - 2-5pm Fort Worth/Arlington "mall outreach" Hulen Mall at 2 pm and Parks Mall at 3:30pm. Just come, browse or shop. Be a visible walking billboard as you wear your WJD T-Shirt.
Friday, September 19th - 7pm Grapevine Mills "mall outreach"
Sunday, September 21st - Dallas Pride Parade - march together with WJD
Saturday, September 27th - State Fair Day - gather for prayer at Big Tex at 10am and/or 1pm
Friday, October 3rd - evening - Oak Cliff "outreach"
Sunday, October 5th - Tarrant County Pride Parade (Fort Worth)
Monday, October 6th - MCC's 40th Anniversary!
Saturday, October 11th - Tarrant County Pride Picnic (Fort Worth)/ National Coming Out Day
Sunday, October 12th -5:45pm - Joel Osteen at the American Airlines Center - wear your T-shirt, order your tickets online.
Friday, October 17th - evening - North Dallas "mall outreach"

School Supplies Collection Continues -
A Mission Outreach
School supplies are available everywhere. They cost a lot for a family with many children or a family who is in a shelter . We can spread that cost across many of us if we all contribute a variety of school supplies. Over the next few weeks we are collecting pens, pencils, notebooks, scissors, glue sticks and all the other back-to-school goodies. We will distribute them to children in need that we know and local shelters. | |
